First fuselage of the SuperJet New Airliner assembled in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia

In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the assembly of the first fuselage of the Sukhoi SuperJet 100, SSJ-New, is being completed.

At present, the installation of onboard systems and cable networks is being completed on the first flight model of the aircraft with serial number 97001. It is equipped with landing gear, Franco-Russian SaM146 engines and a domestic auxiliary power unit TA18-100C. In March, it is planned to put the aircraft under current and, after shop inspections, it will be transferred to the flight test station.

The new liner is equipped with Russian equipment, a PD-8 engine, and onboard electronics. This year they plan to conduct flight tests and certify the updated version.

Three aircraft will take part in flight tests. On the second flight copy of SSJ-New (97003), the glider has been docked, and onboard systems are being installed. This summer, this aircraft will also receive Russian engines.

The first serial SSJ-New (97004) will be built using the fuselage from the backlog of the SSJ100, which remained at the plant after the completion of the construction of "Superjets" in foreign form. The fuselage will undergo the necessary modifications, and a new wing will be docked to it. Readiness for transfer to the customer of this, as well as board 97005, is planned for the end of this year.

They plan to complete them and certify the updated version this year in order to bring the project to the set pace next year.

The plant plans to produce about 20 such aircraft annually starting in 2024.

89 aircraft of the new model will be received by Aeroflot and eight more by Aurora.

In early February, it was reported that the docking of the compartments of the first production aircraft SSJ-New (97101) of a new standard design was completed. The fuselage was moved to the second production site.

In accordance with the Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry until 2030, in 2024, the Production Center of the Irkut Corporation in Komsomolsk-on-Amur is to build 20 new Superjets. In just eight years, the plant will produce 142 regional aircraft.
