ROSTEC completed contract for supply of eight Mi-8MTV-1 for Gazprom Avia
Russian Helicopters Holding of the Rostec State Corporation handed over two Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to Natspromleasing-Invest LLC, closing the contract for the supply of eight helicopters of this type. The aircraft will go to the Tomsk and Samara branches of Gazprom Avia Aviation Enterprise LLC.
Mi-8MTV-1 has high flight performance and can be used around the clock in the most difficult climatic conditions at temperatures from +50 to -50 degrees Celsius, autonomously based on unequipped sites. In the cockpit of each rotorcraft, 20 passenger seats are installed, while they can be used, among other things, for transporting bulky cargo weighing up to 4 tons, for which they are equipped with an external cable suspension. It allows you to deliver goods to hard-to-reach places, and carry out installation work.
Gazprom is one of our key partners, with whom we have been working for many years on several projects at once, including the supply of helicopters for the company's needs. The transfer of two Mi-8MTV-1 closes the contract concluded with Natspromleasing-Invest for the delivery of 8 such machines in the interests of Gazprom Avia. The first six Mi-8MTV-1s were manufactured at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, handed over to the customer in 2021-2022 and are already in operation. These machines today provide reliable communication with the company's remote facilities," - said the speaker of Rostec.
Mi-8MTV-1 is distinguished by a high level of safety, cost efficiency and ease of maintenance. In order to perform special tasks, each helicopter can be equipped with additional fuel tanks, searchlights, night vision systems, emergency landing on water, protection against a collision with wires, dust protection devices, weather radars, and medical and other equipment.
Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters are in demand and efficient: they can be easily transformed into a cargo or passenger version, and they can be used not only to deliver shift crews to oil and gas facilities and monitor gas pipelines but also to transport passengers, and luggage, perform sanitary tasks and other types of aviation work. In total, 80 helicopters in various modifications of the Mi-8 family fly in the airline's fleet, and we plan to continue producing them in accordance with the needs of Gazprom Avia, said Anton Korolev, Deputy General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding for sales of civil helicopter equipment.
