Just six months after production began at the Yaskawa robotics plant in Kocevje, southern Slovenia, a Japanese technology company bought another area in the city and announced that it would expand production.

As we reported at the time , the factory produces 10,000 industrial robots a year. Currently, 70 employees are employed, and by 2023 the number of employees will be increased to 200. This Slovenian factory supplies 80 percent of the European market demand for Motoman robots. In addition to the factory, there is also a small development center with three engineers and I would like to expand the team to 20 people.The expansion will cover an area of ​​4.5 hectares, half of which will include servomotors and controllers. The Slovenian state sold the site to the investor in a completely publicized area, with a grant of EUR 5.7 million for the construction of the original factory.Yaskawa offers a wide range of robots, developing machines for material handling, assembly, painting, welding, cutting and packaging. In 2012, Yaskawa acquired a majority stake in German industrial control technology company VIPA. In their system works another department of the Audi factory in Győr, control technology operating in control cabinets supplied by them ensures, the production lines of energy supply.
